Sharon Hunt is a world class eventer who currently competes on a select group of horses at all levels.

She is well known for taking part in the Olympics, World Equestrian Games, Burghley and Badminton – and she travels throughout the UK and beyond to compete. She, aboard Jasper (Tankers Town) was part of a team that brought home a bronze for Britain at the 2008 Olympics. Jasper (now happily retired) was a horse that Sharon produced entirely herself. She has subsequently produced many other successful event horses, one of which was selected for the Brazilian Team at the 2012 Olympics.

When she is not riding, training or maintaining her own fitness (by running, swimming and gym work), Sharon is busy teaching, running clinics and fulfilling her commitment as the U18 coach for the Eastern Region BE Team, a role she finds rewarding and enjoyable.

Sharon also delivers keynote speeches and gives mounted demonstrations at a variety of equestrian, sporting, corporate and other events throughout the country. In addition, she provides private tuition and runs a series of clinics.

Sharon is based in Suffolk (where she grew up). She is part of a close-knit family and her parents and sister are extremely supportive and proud of her eventing career. Hot on her heels is her 12-year-old niece, who is showing a natural aptitude for riding! As well as horses (and one pony), the Hunt family owns dogs (Hungarian Vizslas), cats (Siamese) and even ducks (Runners).

In her spare time (not that she has much), Sharon enjoys seeing friends and socialising. She is a capable skier and – time and commitments allowing – tries to make it to the slopes once a year. In terms of holidays, Sharon likes visiting the Caribbean but while she does enjoy reading (particularly biographies of other successful sportspeople), she is not one for lounging about reading – she likes to keep active with a range of pursuits including tennis and waterskiing.
